Meet Our Physicians
Critical Care
A critical care physician, or intensivist, is a physician who specializes in the care and treatment of patients in intensive care. Because patients in the ICU generally have life-threatening illnesses or conditions, they must be monitored more closely than patients in regular units. Intensivists work in conjunction with other physician specialists as well as the critical care nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, case managers and spiritual advisors.
