Ammar Ghanem, MD, FCCP, DABSM, joined St. Joseph Medical Group in July 2010 after serving as an attending physician at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, since 2005. He also served on the faculty at Ohio University in Athens, Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Dr. Ghanem earned a medical degree from Damascus University Medical School in Damascus, Syria, in 1994. He trained in internal medicine at Damascus University and Ministry of Health Hospitals, where he was named graduate of the year. In 2003, he completed an internal medicine residency at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., which is an affiliate of State University of New York Upstate Medical University at Syracuse.

He completed fellowships in sleep and pulmonology at Marshall University, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, W.V., in 2005, and in 2010, he completed a fellowship in critical care at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Dr. Ghanem is board certified in internal, pulmonary and sleep medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is also a fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians.

Ann Margaret Moore, D.O., a 1989 graduate of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, has joined St. Joseph Medical Group as a geriatrician. She is board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and hospice and palliative care.

Dr. Moore earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 1995. She completed an internship and a residency in internal medicine at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. For the past seven years, Dr. Moore has served as the director of health administration at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Ind.

Brian A. Youn, MD, joined St. Joseph Medical Group as an intensivist in April 2008. Dr. Youn has been on St. Joe's active medical staff since 1996 and has served in a variety of leadership roles at the hospital throughout the years.

Dr. Youn earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va., in 1979, and he earned a medical degree from CIFAS University School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic in 1983. He completed a residency in internal medicine in 1986 and a fellowship in critical care medicine in 1988, both at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. He also completed a fellowship in hyperbaric medicine and wound care at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1987.

Dr. Youn moonlighted as a resident at Good Samaritan Hospital and Lebanon Valley General Hospital in Lebanon, Pa., and was on staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville before moving to Fort Wayne in 1996.

Dr. Youn, who is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, is board certified in critical care and internal medicine, and he is a fellow in the American College of Chest Pain Physicians and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Youn has published extensively.
